Competencies for Business Management (12052)

If you are interested in developing the Business Entrepreneurship and Management pathway within the Business Management and Administration cluster, please take a moment to review the competencies for Business Management (12052). Click Here

Business Management is a required .5 credit course within the Business Entrepreneurship and Management pathway. There are eight pages to this document. The first two pages are the evaluation/assessment form. On the remaining pages, you will find more details on competencies with suggested outcomes.

I want to thank those who have assisted in the drafting of these competencies. We are still needing more constructive feedback. Here is what we are needing:

1. Clarity – Do they make sense?
2. Flexibility – Competencies should be prescribed (for assessing), but broad enough to give educators curriculum autonomy. Can you make the class your own?
3. Timely – Can the competencies be accomplished within the .5 units/credits? More/Less?
4. Opinion – What do you want to accomplish with this class? Are we on target?

On August 31, 2010, I will be meeting with business and industry to discuss this pathway. To prepare, we will be drafting competencies for the Applied Business Development (12099) course. If you have taught either Advance Entrepreneurship or Advance Management, I would appreciate reviewing your course outcomes/syllabus.
